PARK CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS |
January 10, 2026
Dear Park City Families and Community Members,
I want to share an update on the construction work underway at the school, our plan for returning on Monday, and an important change to this week’s Board of Trustees meeting.
Construction Update
Work on the school facility continues following the wind damage to the gym roof. Crews have been actively addressing cleanup, safety measures, and repairs, and the District continues to work closely with professional contractors to ensure the work is completed correctly and safely.
The District has also been coordinating with FEMA, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to ensure appropriate oversight and compliance throughout this process.
While progress continues, some steps have required additional coordination and review outside of the District’s direct control, which has impacted timing. The District is prepared to move forward as quickly as approvals allow and will continue advocating for timely progress while ensuring all safety and regulatory requirements are met.
Back to School – Monday: In-Person (EEK–3) and Remote (Grades 4–12)
Beginning Monday, we will move forward with the following plan:
EEK through 3rd grade will be held in person.
Grades 4 through 12 will be remote for the time being.
We recognize this is not ideal—especially for families with older students—and we appreciate your flexibility. This temporary structure allows us to prioritize safety, make the best use of available supervised space, and maintain continuity of learning while facility work continues.
Office Hours (Monday–Friday): District office support will be available 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Teachers will communicate grade-level expectations, schedules, and support options directly to students and families. Additional information will be shared if adjustments become necessary.
Board of Trustees Meeting – Location and Date Change
Please note that this week’s regular Board of Trustees meeting has been moved to Wednesday, January 14, 2026, and will be held at the Vo-Ag Building at 7:00 PM. This change allows us to maintain safe access while construction work continues. The meeting remains open to the public, and community members are welcome to attend.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
Sincerely,
Dave Whitesell, Superintendent
