Park City Gym Facility Update
We want to provide our community with a direct update on the gym roof restoration project. Navigating the legal, insurance, and engineering processes over the past several months has been incredibly challenging, but we have reached a concrete turning point in the physical restoration of our gym.
First Things First: Structural & Safety Clearances Before any interior work can happen, our immediate focus is entirely on structural integrity and safety. Engineering firms have concluded their assessments, approving a plate and weld approach to the damaged trusses of the roof. We are currently waiting on the finalized engineered plans so crews can begin the welding, plating, and mandatory inspection phases.
Next Phases Scheduled Once the structural foundation passes inspections, several crews are lined up to move the project toward completion:
- Electricians are scheduled to be on-site in two weeks to begin installing new LED lighting throughout the gym.
- YBC will be coming in to handle the interior carpentry work, focusing primarily on restoring the aesthetics of the space.
- We have a painter lined up to finish the ceiling once structural work is complete.
Looking Ahead While a definitive completion timeline is still to be determined due to the moving parts of a project this size, we remain optimistic and are pushing hard to have everything ready for the start of school.
We appreciate the continued patience of our Park City student-athletes, staff, families, and community members as we push through these final logistical hurdles to get our gym fully and safely restored.
